The Churches Conservation Trust is looking for volunteers
Do you have administration experience, a passion for historic buildings and some time to spare?
We're looking for administration volunteers to help out in a friendly team of staff and volunteers in our regional office in the grounds of Newby Hall.
The role will involve helping with admin, opening the post, answering telephone/email enquiries, booking groups into churches, processing donations and helping to organise events. You will also occasionally be able to help out at the church of Christ the Consoler, a magnificent historic church on the Newby Hall estate now in our care.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for historic-building conservation and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and databases. You will ideally be able to use a printer/photocopier and have excellent communication skills. Full training will be provided and this is also an opportunity to learn new skills.
The Newby Hall office is the regional administration and support hub for The Churches Conservation Trust in the north of England. This is a new office and we are hoping to recruit new people who have a day or half-a-day free each week and are passionate about the conservation of historic churches.
The Churches Conservation Trust is the national charity protecting historic churches no longer used for regular worship. We have saved over 350 beautiful buildings, ranging from idyllic rural medieval treasures to grand Victorian masterpieces in city centres. Our churches are visited by more than a million visitors a year.
