Sir John Tomlinson, the great operatic bass, famous for his Wagnerian roles at the Royal Opera, Bayreuth, and other major roles in Vienna, New York, Berlin, Paris etc., is to give a dramatic performance "Michelangelo in Song" of settings of Michelangelo's poems by Britten, Wolf and Shostakovich, on 13th September as part of Ripon International Festival. After Ripon, he will perform this concert at the Frankfurt Opera. Costumed and semi-staged, he delivers " a performance of sublime intensity and beauty".
