Newby Hall Historic Vehicle Rally

Ripon Internet took a day out yesterday to the Newby Hall Historic Vehicle Rally.

The weather couldn't have been better for this event which showed off some of the best classic and vintage vehicles in the UK.

The grounds of Newby Hall were massed with cars of all makes, models and ages. It was hard to know where to start. Two favourites were the VW Camper vans and the Triumph Spitfire sections. The show was a place for the enthusiasts as well as for people who just like old cars.

As the event was being held at Newby Hall it was also a good opportunity to visit the gardens of the house as well. Newby Hall is a place where a keen gardener can be lost for hours as the grounds go on forever.

For the kids there is a great adventure playground, along with a boating lake, train rides, river cruises, a paddling pool and a sandpit. Not to mention ice creams that we had to queue for 20 minutes for!

All in all a good family day out and we are looking forward to next year's event.
